Our Kearny Street cafe, the first place in the U.S. to feature an interior made from Shou Sugi Ban wood, won a national architectural award for its bold and unique approach. Shou Sugi Ban, with origins in Japan, is a process of burning wood and quickly cooling it, resulting in natural fireproofing, pest resistance, and a striking finish.
